Our wonderful staff are always there to help. We are proud to say that we get a lot of praise for our amazingly helpful employees. Approximately 15 people work here all year round â this more than doubles in the high season, when over 30 people do their utmost to ensure our guests have a great experience.
The best thing about Lysekil is the sea!âŠall year aroundâŠ.I canât think of anything better than getting into my sea kayak and heading out into the BohuslĂ€n archipelago, far from all the stress and pulse of modern life⊠In my kayak I can reach even the smallest coves, where there is no-one else around, just me and the marine wildlife. This is where I find my most genuine nature experiences. As I am also a diver, I am delighted to live close to the best diving waters in Sweden, and I am proud to have the countryâs biggest diving centre as my neighbour.
Anyone visiting Lysekil really must go for walk along the paths at StĂ„ngehuvud â Lysekilâs beautiful nature reserve, where the granite cliffs reach far into the sea. The path starts at Pinnevik Beach, just 300 metres from our hotel. It leads up narrow, winding granite steps, follows the cliff edge and passes a mysterious lighthouse, before descending into a small valley, finally reaching the Needleâs Eye. Along the path are places to swim and great fishing spots. This is the perfect place to enjoy the sun on a warm summer day, but just as pleasant on a windy autumn day, when the air fills with salty spray from the ocean.
Taking supper on the beach with the family and enjoying the sunset, adds a golden edge to my everyday life. Ending the day with a walk and an ice cream on the dock in the North Harbour is something that is always appreciated by both adults and children!
As I come from the forests of HÀlsingland, I love going for walks in the forest of BohuslÀn, FjÀlla, although I actually appreciate the cliffs at StÄngehuvud even more!
The best thing about Lysekil is its closeness to the sea, and the fact that everything you can possibly need is within walking distance!
I love walking along the road Backa gamla byvĂ€g in Brastad, a small village 20 kilometres north of Lysekil. This area is unique, as it contains around 20 rocks that are so full of carvings the road is often called âVia Sacraâ â the Holy Road. This visitor attraction is suitable for everyone, and there are wheelchair ramps by the carving known as The Shoemaker. Another favourite outing is a trip to HĂ€rnĂ€set, where I like to enjoy a cup of coffee on the warm, smooth granite cliffs before taking a dip in either Brofjorden or Ă byfjorden.
Born and raised in Finland, the sauna has always held a special place in my life, which is why the Cold Bath House in our beautiful spa town of Lysekil is a personal favorite.
Thereâs something magical about the feeling after a cold dip â your mind feels clearer, your step lighter, and your spirit lifted.
For a truly complete experience, start with a peaceful walk along StÄngehuvud and let nature work its magic.
For being a girl from Sörmland, I never get tired of the beautiful views the West Coast has to offer! The sea and the granite cliffs are a delight to rest your eyes on.
